We seek to inspire the people of the Parish and beyond with the Good News of Jesus Christ through our enthusiastic, worshipping and serving congregation
The good news is the Nominating Committee have done an excellent job, They have nominated the Rev George Shand, he is at present minister in St Andrews Scottish Memorial Church in Jerusalem, he is a Scottish minister who has been out in Jerusalem for the last 5 years. George came and preached as sole nominee to all three Churches on Sunday 1st September, a vote by secret ballot was conducted after each service and the votes were all put in the one box. After the third service the votes were counted by the officials from Presbytery and the result of the voting was almost unanimous in favour of accepting him as our next minister. George willingly accepted the call and the Nominating Committee were dismissed. They did a great job and made it appear so easy, we owe them a great deal because we know how difficult it is in the present climate to find a new minister. Ministers are very scarce on the ground at present so well done all of you and especially the man guiding them, Bill Love. Work is progressing well on the manse in preparation for George and his wife Margaret to move in. It has now been agreed that Rev. George Shand’s induction to the joint charges will take place on the 16th January 2014. Further details will be available at a later date.
